Step 3. Update the Existing PowerPoint Presentation with New Data

Now, when your PowerPoint charts are linked to the raw data, it's time to replace the data source and update the presentation.

Note* If you've built the report with sample data set, follow the steps of Method 1. If you have created the report with your data set, follow the steps of Method 2.

 

Method 1

  1. Click on the Data Update drop-down button > select Replace Data Source option
  2. In the Replace Data Source dialog box, check the current dataset you wish to replace with the new one > click Next
  3. From the New Data Set drop-down menu, select the sample data set with the most recent date > click Change

 

Method 2

  1. In PowerPoint, click on the Data Update drop-down button > select Replace Data Source option
  2. In the Replace Data Source dialog box, check the current dataset you wish to replace with the new one > click Next > click Upload New Data Set button to upload the updated data set of the existing one
  3. Once the new data set is uploaded > Map the old and new variable if needed > click Next > click Change
