How to Filter the Entire PowerPoint Report Data

In the How to Filter the Chart Data section, you already learned to filter your crosstab in the Chart Maker and visualize it on a PowerPoint chart. This is a handy feature when you need to apply different filters to different charts separately. However, this may be a time-consuming process in case you need to filter your data for many charts with the same filter variable. Chartrics allows you to automatically apply filters to many slides or the entire PowerPoint report at once instead of going one by one.

For example, let's assume you have prepared a report for your client where you present some data for the whole region, and now you have to recreate the same report for each city separately. All you need to do is apply a general filter with the corresponding filter variable (City name), and it will automatically update the report with the filtered view for that specific city.

Note* The Global Filter variable will be applied to the charts created from the same dataset.

Method

  1. In PowerPoint Chartrics Add-In toolbar, click Global Actions drop-down menu > select Global Filter
  2. In the Global Filter dialog box > click Add Filter >Select Dataset > Select Variable > Select Categories > select the Slides you want to apply the filter to > Apply

Automatically update all your PowerPoint charts with the new data in 15 seconds.
