How to Apply Weighting Across Multiple Charts in PowerPoint?

How to Apply Weighting Across Multiple Charts in PowerPoint?

In the “How to Weight Chart Data” section, you learned how to apply a weight variable to a single chart in Chart Maker. But when you need to apply the same weight variable to multiple charts – especially charts on the same slide or built from the same dataset – repeating the process manually can be time-consuming.

To streamline this, Chartrics offers a Global Weight feature, allowing you to apply a selected weight variable to multiple charts at once with just one click.

*Note: Global Weighting applies only to charts created from the same dataset.

How to Apply Global Weighting?

This is ideal for rebalancing demographic distributions, correcting sample bias, or ensuring consistency across reports where the same statistical adjustments are required throughout the deck.
1. In PowerPoint, go to the Chartrics tab
2. Click the Global Actions drop-down menu
3. Select Global Weight
4. In the Global Weight dialog box, click Add Weight
5. Choose the Dataset and the Weight Variable you want to apply
6. Select the Slides where the weight should be applied
7. Click Apply – all selected charts will update with the weighted data
