How to Create a PowerPoint Chart from Raw Data?

Turning raw data into clear, actionable visuals often requires switching between multiple tools – from Excel pivot tables to BI dashboards – followed by the manual task of copying charts into PowerPoint one by one. This slows down workflows and limits flexibility.

Chartrics eliminates this hassle by embedding an intuitive chart creation tool directly into PowerPoint.
With Chart Maker, you can build charts from raw data using a simple drag-and-drop interface – no pivot tables, no external tools, and no manual copy-paste.

What You Need?

Before you can build charts from raw data in PowerPoint, make sure the following setup is in place:
  • A dataset (in Excel, CSV, or SPSS format) uploaded to Chartrics Cloud
  • A PowerPoint presentation saved and opened from the same Project folder as the dataset

Steps to Create a Chart with Raw Data

Once your data and presentation are properly set up, follow these quick steps to build a chart directly in PowerPoint using Chart Maker:

In PowerPoint:
  • Go to the Chartrics tab
  • Insert a chart → right-click on it → select Chart Maker
  • In the Chart Maker canvas, select or upload a dataset from the top-left dropdown
  • Drag your desired variable(s) to the Row or Column shelf
  • Click Apply – your chart will be created instantly on the slide
